The stand, covering an area of 1504 sq. m., consists of two islands measuring 16x36x7 m and 26x36x7 m. It is constructed using the Double Form Octanorm system, with surfaces made from recycled chipboard, emphasizing the designer's commitment to eco-friendly materials.
The broken lines on the floor, in an orange color, define the trajectory for visitors as they navigate the stand. This design element is echoed in the dropped ceiling, creating a cohesive visual experience. The twisting road concept not only adds visual interest but also helps to address the challenge of organizing the space to accommodate a large number of cars on display.
Viktor Bilak's design for the Mercedes-Benz Russia SAO stand was realized in May 2015 in Moscow and showcased at the Comtrans-2015 exhibition in September of the same year. The project required detailed empirical research to determine the optimal placement of vehicles within the space. By organizing the cars into groups and creating a 3D model of the stand, the designer was able to ensure an efficient and visually appealing layout.
The Mercedes-Benz Russia SAO exhibition stand, with its unique and visually striking design, was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2016 in the category of Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design. This prestigious award recognizes designs that are well-designed, practical, and innovative, meeting professional and industrial requirements. The stand's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contributes to a better world and provides fulfillment and positive feelings for visitors.
